Just two days after San Francisco’s representative, Nancy Pelosi, assumed the speakership of the US House of Representatives in Washington, 1,000 people back in her home district laid their bodies down and spelled out the message “IMPEACH!” in 100-foot letters.

It was a magical day with clear skies and perfect weather, and a peaceful atmosphere that included adults, children, war veterans, and a fair number of dogs. One person who said she’d been at Woodstock, said it “felt” the same.

These photos, taken from a helicopter, made their way around the world in a an internet heartbeat. Two of them were splashed prominently in the next day’s Sunday San Francisco Chronicle. The Christian Science Monitor (read by everyone in government and media) featured one photo as the lead image on its website for three straight days. Countless other websites, plus newspapers in the US and in other countries, also ran the photos.

Imagine the impact of 100 groups repeating this event on April 28…!
