Ocean Beach, San Francisco - Beach IMPEACH! - April 28, 2007 

OK, this is now GREAT A28 history, links for photos and videos, but; so you know how it's done, have a look below at the original signup and info page for the April 28, 2007 Beach IMPEACH! A28 event. This is how Brad did it:

TIME: Please arrive BY 10:30 a.m. and find a spot in the lettering. Volunteers will be passing out fliers with information and instructions -- make sure to take one and read it. At least one helicopter should arrive overhead at 11. The photographic portion of this event should be over within 15-30 minutes. Last time, a few people trickled in around noon, thinking they’d still be a part of it, but by noon most people had departed and a football game had broken out on the sand. This time, Codepink is organizing a noon march/caravan from the Beach event to Nancy Pelosi's house -- all are welcomed to join in.

NATIONAL TIE-IN: People in other cities will be participating in similar events, and this is being coordinated through the website www.A28.org -- you may want to take a look and alert friends who live in other cities where events are happening.

PERMIT: A special-event permit application has been issued by the Park Service. The permit allows 2,000 people to come and lie down on the beach with their bodies arranged to spell out an impeachment message. On January 6, 2007, one thousand people came to the same spot on Ocean Beach and laid down and spelled out “IMPEACH” in 100-foot letters. Since we’ll have 2,000 people this time, we’ll probably spell out “IMPEACH NOW!” – with the “NOW!” part either in slightly bigger letters (125 feet?) than the “IMPEACH” part, or perhaps we’ll simply underline the “NOW!” part, or whatever seems to make the most sense during the graph-paper-and-tide-charts stage of planning… PREVIOUSLY: See what San Francisco's Beach Impeach did on Jan. 6th, 2007. Building momentum, we can grow on April 28th!
